The Document Foundation has announced the release of LibreOffice 25.2.5, the fifth maintenance update for the LibreOffice 25.2 office suite series, which includes 63 bug fixes aimed at enhancing overall stability and reliability. This update follows the previous release, LibreOffice 25.2.4, which came out a month and a half earlier.
Users are encouraged to update to this latest version promptly to benefit from the improvements. The bugs addressed range from crashes to various functional annoyances that users reported. Detailed information on the fixes can be found in the RC1 and RC2 changelogs. Users can download LibreOffice 25.2.5 from the official website, available for DEB and RPM-based distributions, or as source code.
For users who installed LibreOffice 25.2 from their distribution’s software repositories, it is advisable to wait for the update to become available through those channels. Most rolling-release distributions typically update their packages within a couple of days.
LibreOffice 25.2, initially released on February 6, 2025, introduced significant features, including a new privacy function that removes personal information from documents. This office suite series will receive ongoing maintenance updates until November 30, 2025, with the next version, LibreOffice 25.2.6, expected in early September 2025.
The Document Foundation also clarifies that LibreOffice is a community-supported edition, with enterprise users advised to consider the LibreOffice Enterprise family of applications for professional deployment.
