Arch Linux Releases November 2025 ISO and Upgraded Archinstall 3.0.12 Installer

The Arch Linux project has announced the release of the November 2025 ISO snapshot, designated as Arch Linux 2025.11.01. This update includes the new Archinstall 3.0.12 installer, enhancing the installation experience for both new and existing users.

Key features of the November 2025 ISO include its foundation on the latest Linux 6.17 kernel series. This upgrade significantly improves hardware detection, particularly benefiting users with newer devices as well as those with older hardware that was previously problematic with earlier versions of Arch Linux ISOs.

The bundled Archinstall 3.0.11 installer has been replaced with Archinstall 3.0.12, which introduces several new functionalities. These include the support for the -S flag with arch-chroot and bypassing bootloader configuration checks when "No Bootloader" is selected. Additionally, the new installer allows the saving and loading of UKI settings, prevents unnecessary reordering of AMDGPU and Radeon modules in mkinitcpio, relies on btrfs-hook for installing Btrfs modules, replaces ‘leafpad’ with ‘l3afpad’ for the LXQt profile, adds Uzbek language support, and only installs applications when explicitly permitted.

These updates, along with various bug fixes and core enhancements, aim to streamline the Arch Linux installation process, making it more user-friendly for newcomers and experienced users alike. The ISO also contains all updated packages from October 2025 available in the official repositories.

Users can download Arch Linux 2025.11.01 from the official website. It’s essential to note that this release is meant for new installations. Current users can keep their systems upgraded by running sudo pacman -Syu in their terminal. To utilize the latest Archinstall 3.0.12 from the ISO snapshot, the command sudo pacman -Sy archinstall must be executed, followed by checking the version with archinstall -v.

Additionally, the Arch Linux project has released the Pacman 7.1 package manager, featuring enhancements to its downloader sandbox, improvements for importing keys, and new command-line options. More details regarding these updates can be found here.
