Armbian 25.2 Released: New Board Support, Linux 6.12 LTS, and Exciting Updates!

Today marks the official release of Armbian 25.2, an important update from the Armbian community that significantly enhances both functionality and hardware support for their Debian and Ubuntu-based Linux distribution tailored for ARM devices.

Following the previous release, Armbian 24.11, this new version introduces support for a variety of new boards, including the Rock 2A and 2F, NanoPi R3S, Retroid Pocket RP5, RPMini, Rock 5T, GenBook, MKS-PI, SKIPR, Armsom CM5, NextThing C.H.I.P, and Magicsee C400 Plus. The core of Armbian 25.2 features the long-term supported Linux 6.12 LTS kernel series.

In addition to new hardware support, this version offers a multitude of enhancements for existing boards. Significant updates for devices such as the Rock S0, NanoPi R6S, Radxa E20C, BananaPi BPI-F3, and Raspberry Pi 5 enhance overall performance and compatibility.

Another key improvement is the inclusion of various updates for the Rockchip 3588, which involve HDMI driver enhancements, fixes for USB3 issues, and upgrades to Bluetooth support. Furthermore, deployment tools like AdGuardHome, Pi-Hole, Home Assistant, Utime Kuma, NetData, Grafana, Cockpit with KVM management, and NextCloud are now more accessible through the armbian-config menus.

As part of this release, there are also upgrades to the network infrastructure used for builds and mirrors. New mirror sites in Amsterdam, Vienna, and Nuremberg provide robust support for users globally, while the Content Delivery Network (CDN) has been optimized for better accessibility amid ongoing global conflicts, enhancing download speeds for community targets via mirrored GitHub downloads.

Users can find out more about the release announcement and view the full changelog on the official Armbian website, where the latest version can also be downloaded, supporting a wide range of ARM devices, including notable Raspberry Pi models.
