Calibre 8.15 has been released, marking the latest stable update for the open-source e-book management software compatible with GNU/Linux, macOS, and Windows. This release arrives two weeks after the previous version, 8.14, and introduces several enhancements to improve user experience.
Notably, the Comments Editor has received updates, including new keyboard shortcuts for modifying text case, allowing users to preserve text formatting better during these changes. Another significant improvement is in the Highlights panel of the E-book Viewer, which now shows the date of highlights in the tooltip when hovered over.
Calibre 8.15 also adds support for the Hack a Day news source while enhancing the existing support for the Guardian news source. Furthermore, the update addresses a few bugs, resolving issues such as not displaying identifier values in the calibredb list and fixing a memory leak in the HTML syntax highlighter during e-book editing.
Although Calibre 8.15 is a minor update, users are encouraged to download the latest version. It is available as a universal binary for 64-bit and ARM64 (AArch64) Linux systems from the official website. For more detailed information about the changes, users can refer to the release notes.
