DXVK 2.7.1 Release Enhances Performance for Team Fortress 2, Crysis 3, and More!

DXVK has released version 2.7.1, a maintenance update to its Vulkan-based implementation of D3D9, D3D10, and D3D11 for Linux/Wine. This update includes enhancements for numerous video games, following a significant update two months prior with DXVK 2.7.

Among the games improved in DXVK 2.7.1 are classics like Team Fortress 2, Crysis 3, Dead Space 2, DCS World, and AquaNox 2: Revelation. The update also brings enhancements for a variety of other titles, such as Alone in the Dark, Comanche 4, Fallout New Vegas, Guilty Gear, The Witcher, and Dungeon Siege 2.

The update aims to boost performance in certain D3D9 games by eliminating unnecessary render pass barriers and addressing a regression that affected MSAA (Multisample Anti-Aliasing) resolves. Additionally, it improves the interpretation of tessellation factors for line tessellation and introduces the d3d9.modeCountCompatibility configuration option. This feature is designed to prevent buffer overflows in older games that do not anticipate monitor support for more than approximately 16 display modes.

For further details, users can refer to the release notes on the project’s GitHub page.

DXVK 2.7.1 is available for download as a source tarball. If you have DXVK installed via your distribution’s software repositories, you will need to wait for the package to update to take advantage of these improvements.
