Enlightenment 0.27.1 has been released, introducing several enhancements and fixes to the lightweight, modern window manager and desktop shell for GNU/Linux distributions.
Key improvements include updates to the Battery module, which now restricts charging to 100%, and new functionality that allows users to utilize the mouse wheel on the Mixer module. Additionally, the client menu has been updated to remove the “Create Keyboard Shortcut” option if there is no desktop file associated with the client.
The Enlightenment file manager (EFM) has also seen improvements – it now retains file monitoring when files or directories are closed. Enhanced logging capabilities for signal handlers, fixes addressing memory access issues within the system tray/D-Bus menu, and refinements to the CPUFreq module all contribute to the overall functionality of this release.
Enlightenment 0.27.1 also addresses various bugs, particularly in the bindings and message bus. More details about these changes can be found on the release announcement page. This version relies on EFL 1.28.0 or later, similar to the prior 0.27.0 release.
Originally launched in January 2025, Enlightenment 0.27 introduced new features such as a Convertible module for mobile devices, Wayland session support in the GNOME Display Manager (GDM), enhancements to the Battery module, a new 1.2x font scaling option, and an updated CPUFreq module, among other updates.
