Fwupd version 2.0.10 has been released, marking the tenth maintenance update of this open-source firmware updater for Linux. This update introduces support for various new devices, including the Lenovo Legion touchpad, Logitech MX Mechanical keyboard, and Poly Studio video bars (V72 and V12). Additionally, it enhances the firmware update process by allowing for the inclusion of the AGESA version in AMD secure processor device summaries.
This new version improves problem report uploads by incorporating the UEFI PK certificate key ID and provides options for restricting GUID lists to simulated devices. It’s important to note that fwupd now disallows dbx updates specifically on the HP Elitebook 845 Gen10 and eliminates certain warnings about BIOS bugs that can be easily addressed. Further improvements include the use of the ‘OnBattery’ property from upower to indicate whether a device is plugged in.
The release also addresses a few bugs, such as a regression that affected the fwupdmgr emulation-save
command and one that hindered KEK installations, alongside resolving a minor memory leak when fetching security attributes.
