High Tide: The GTK4/libadwaita TIDAL Client for Linux Now Available on Flathub

High Tide, the GTK4/libadwaita client for TIDAL, has officially launched on Flathub, making it much easier for Linux users to access the app. Previously, users had to manually download the latest Flatpak file from the project’s GitHub page, but with its recent addition to Flathub, it is now a verified application—particularly beneficial for Linux Mint users who typically have unverified apps hidden by default.

This user-friendly transition allows subscribers of the TIDAL music streaming service to enjoy a more integrated app experience. Users must have a TIDAL subscription, as logging in is done securely through the TIDAL website, utilizing the official TIDAL APIs.

While familiar features such as track and album searching, audio quality settings, and playback options remain in the app, the Flathub launch brings several new enhancements:

  • Support for Discord Rich Presence
  • Animated album covers (where available)
  • Album duration displayed on the album page
  • Improvements to the Preferences window
  • Unavailable tracks are shown as insensitive
  • Higher-quality album artwork
  • MPRIS tweaks for better progress backgrounds in Turntable

Linux users subscribed to TIDAL should consider trying High Tide, as it provides a comprehensive TIDAL experience tailored for desktop rather than just through a browser. If you have an older version of the app, it’s recommended to uninstall it before downloading the latest release from Flathub, as the app ID has changed with this new version.
