The KDE Project announced the release of KDE Gear 25.12.1, marking the first maintenance update for the KDE Gear 25.12 series. This latest version introduces a range of enhancements across various KDE applications, including KDE Itinerary, KMail, Kdenlive, and several others.
Significant improvements have been made to KDE Itinerary, which now includes capabilities to extract specific details from KLM’s travel emails, such as “Ticket for your trip” and boarding pass information. It can also handle various ticket formats, including domestic Czech train tickets and booking confirmations from Italian providers.
The Kdenlive video editing application has also seen several updates, specifically in audio capture and user interface features, enhancing the editing experience.
Additionally, KMail, KDE’s email client, fixed critical bugs that previously led to the unintended deletion of email filters and crashes under certain situations. Improvements were also made in Koko, which now supports AVIF images, and Merkuro, which addressed settings dialog issues on mobile devices.
Other applications like Okular, NeoChat, and Keysmith received enhancements to improve user interaction and functionality.
