KeePassXC has released version 2.7.10 of its open-source password manager, introducing several new features and improvements. This latest version includes support for importing passwords from Proton Pass; however, it currently only accepts unencrypted JSON files and does not support Passkeys.
The update also enhances KeePass2 TOTP configuration settings and offers new passphrase-generation options, allowing users to create phrases using a mix of uppercase and lowercase words, referred to as “MIXED case.”
User interface improvements in this release include mechanisms to alter font sizes, password strength icons, and the addition of a new “Group Full Path” column in the entry view. Another notable change is the option to disable the built-in browser from opening when a URL is double-clicked.
Additional features include the ability to expire password entries right from the context menu and shortcuts for copying fields in the Auto-Type dialog. The action states have been revamped, and users can now see character counts in the password generator dialog. The entry background color can now be displayed in a column for better organization.
Other changes encompass a new Preview Entry Attachments dialog, enhancements to the unlock view with options for database name, color, and icon, and improved functionality for deleting extension plugin data from Browser Statistics in Database Reports. A new command-line option allows starting the application minimized irrespective of user preferences.
Overall, this release brings significant updates to documentation, tag management, the Auto-type popup dialog, and numerous bug fixes. Users can find more about these updates in the release notes on GitHub and download the latest version from the official KeePassXC website.
