LibreOffice 25.2.4 Released: Download Now for 52 Bug Fixes and Enhancements!

The Document Foundation has released LibreOffice 25.2.4, the fourth maintenance update for the LibreOffice 25.2 series, encouraging all users to upgrade immediately. This update addresses 52 bugs, which include various crashes and issues reported by users, focusing on enhancing the stability and reliability of this popular open-source office suite.

LibreOffice 25.2.4 comes five weeks after the previous version, 25.2.3. Information about the specific bug fixes can be found in the RC1 and RC2 changelogs. Users can download this latest version from the official website, available for both DEB and RPM-based Linux distributions, or as a source tarball. Those who installed LibreOffice 25.2 via their distribution’s software repositories should wait for the update to appear in those channels before upgrading.

Initially released on February 6, 2025, LibreOffice 25.2 included major enhancements, such as a new privacy feature aimed at removing any personal information associated with documents. This includes details like author names, timestamps, and other metadata.

With the end of life for the LibreOffice 24.8 series set for June 12, 2025, users are urged to transition to the 25.2 series, which will receive seven more maintenance updates until November 30, 2025. The next update, LibreOffice 25.2.5, is anticipated around mid-July 2025.

The Document Foundation highlights that this is the “Community” edition of LibreOffice, supported by volunteers, and recommends enterprises consider using the LibreOffice Enterprise family from affiliated partners.
