Nitrux has officially released version 3.8, which now features the latest Linux Kernel 6.12. This update enhances support for NVIDIA users by introducing several improvements, including NVIDIA Dynamic Boost and new udev rules tailored for NVIDIA hardware.
Additionally, the new release incorporates three new tools: devmem2, which allows reading and writing to memory locations; msr-tools, which facilitates access to Model-Specific Registers from user space; and policycoreutils, essential for SELinux operations.
Improvements have also been made to the Calamares installer, resulting in a more efficient installation experience. The OpenRC services have been reorganized for better boot times and functionality, and the release notes mention patches for the Broadcom STA driver to ensure compatibility with the new kernel.
Furthermore, Nitrux 3.8 introduces enhancements to MangoHud for power consumption display, updated Flatpak install scripts for popular applications, and notifications for users running in virtual environments or on systems that do not meet the minimum requirements.
