Ubuntu 25.10 Snapshot 4 Now Available for Download!

The fourth and final monthly snapshot for Ubuntu 25.10, codenamed Questing Quokka, is now available for download. This release is part of a new automated build process that Canonical is testing, aimed at generating valid and functional ISOs for testing with minimal human intervention.

The monthly snapshots allow developers to implement test routines which help identify bugs and issues earlier in the development cycle, reducing the reliance on the beta release for quality assurance. As Canonical developer Utkarsh Gupta mentions, these builds are not production-ready and should be treated as "throwaway artifacts" for testing.

Despite these changes in the building process, the functional output of the snapshots remains consistent with the standard daily builds.

To download the latest snapshot, users can visit the official Ubuntu CD image server here. The latest snapshot boasts GNOME 49 (beta), Linux Kernel 6.16, and introduces apps such as a new terminal and image viewer, along with new wallpapers. Notably, it does not have X11/Xorg session support by default.

This snapshot marks the last monthly release before the anticipated beta on September 18, 2025, with the final stable release slated for October 9, 2025. Users who install this snapshot should remain aware that it is unstable and should keep their installations updated as improvements are made leading up to the beta.
