Vivaldi 7.2 Launches with Enhanced Speed and Exciting New Features

Vivaldi has rolled out an update to its web browser, version 7.2, which comes with a range of enhancements aimed at improving user experience. This update introduces smarter address bar suggestions and significantly improved speed, with claims of page load times up to twice as fast for some users. According to CEO Jon von Tetzchner, these changes make searching for information more seamless.

In addition to speed improvements, Vivaldi 7.2 adds a new Currency widget for real-time currency tracking in the New Tab ‘Dashboard’. Users can now access their browser workspaces via Quick Commands, and the built-in mail client has been enhanced to allow users to reorder their mail accounts easily.

This version also expands on customization options with the introduction of a Browser Priority Shortcuts feature, which allows users to set specific keyboard shortcuts that activate certain features in the browser, rather than just navigating web pages.

Other notable changes in Vivaldi 7.2 include:

  • The ability to use the Feeds feature without needing Mail & Calendar.
  • Support for OPML folder structure for feed imports.
  • Improved favicons for fractional scaling resolutions.
  • Fixed Picture-in-Picture mode for Prime Video.
  • Bookmarklets can now be dragged to the bookmarks bar.
  • The Weather widget automatically detects current location settings.
  • A new entry allowing users to "Share Vivaldi" from the Help menu.

Overall, Vivaldi continues to differentiate itself as a comprehensive web browser that offers a variety of unique features that cater to diverse user needs.

To download Vivaldi 7.2, existing users can update through the app directly, while new users can find the desktop browser available for Windows, macOS, and Linux on the official Vivaldi website. Ubuntu users may prefer to install it via the official Vivaldi snap app.
