TUXEDO Computers has unleashed their latest Linux laptop, the InfinityFlex<\/em> 14<\/em> \u2014 as you might have guessed from the name, it flips and folds.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The company touts their dextrous new device as \u2018the first 3-in-1 Linux convertible\u2019, with its 360-degree hinge allowing the touch-enabled 16:10 display to be flipped back into tablet mode and folded into \u2018touch monitor\u2019 mode for, er, watching movies I guess.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

TUXEDO InfinityFlex 14 supports active style via the Microsoft Pen Protocol 2.0. A pen isn\u2019t included with the device, so buyers need to add one during checkout. Bundling one in would make the InfinityFlex more appealing to open-source creatives.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

There\u2019s plenty more to TUXEDO\u2019s InfinityFlex 14 than just its flippin\u2019 screen, though.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

It also offers upgradeable RAM (a max of 64 GB DDR4-3200 across 2 slots), and upgradeable storage (2 M.2 NVMe slots).<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

In a light and thin portable, upgrade options are few and far between these days, so that\u2019s great to see.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Performance wise, the InfinityFlex 14 is powered by an Intel Core i5-1335U processor, a 10-core chip (2 performance, 8 efficiency) with 12 heads.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics deliver competent if not exceptional performance, but with Intel QuickSync there is AV1 decoding, albeit not AV1 encoding (though this device isn\u2019t really aimed at video makers anyway, so that\u2019s unlikely to disappoint).<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The 14-inch matte display is a modest 1920\u00d71200 pixels (16:10), and there\u2019s a 2.0 megapixel webcam (with privacy switch) integrated along the top edge. Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX211 offers wireless and Bluetooth connectivity.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

A 55 Wh battery is good for 5 hours of light web browsing, 6 hours of video, or 12 hours of being idle, according to TUXEDO. Charging is via a barrel connector (groan) or via USB-C (hurrah), but unlike other laptops out there with this chipset, no super-fast charging.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

If the InfinityFlex 14 (Gen 1) sounds infinitely cool to you, pre-orders are open now. The device is expected to begin shipping to customers towards the end of September.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Pricing starts at \u20ac1000 (~$1100) for the entry-level model, with prices increasing as you customise, configure, and kit it out with your preferred set of specs, peripherals, and extras.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Ubuntu-based TUXEDO OS is preloaded, but you can select a different Linux distribution (or opt for Windows 11) during checkout.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
