Today, NVIDIA announced the stable release of the 570 graphics driver series, enhancing support for Linux, FreeBSD, and Solaris systems. This update brings several new features, most notably the addition of Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support for multi-monitor setups, along with a new kernel module parameter, conceal_vrr_caps<\/code>. This parameter allows usage of features such as Ultra Low Motion Blur (ULMB) on certain displays that do not support VRR.<\/p>\n

Other significant updates include the ability to query Dynamic Boost status, improved compatibility for the NVIDIA GBM backend<\/a>, and enhancements to the nvidia-modeset<\/code> kernel module. The driver now also supports the systemd suspend-then-hibernate sleep method and allows users to view all driver files used within container runtime environments, such as nvidia-container-toolkit and enroot. Furthermore, support is improved for popular games including Assassin\u2019s Creed Valhalla and Assassin\u2019s Creed Mirage.<\/p>\n

The nvidia-settings control panel has been revamped to utilize NVML for GPU clocks and fan speeds on Wayland systems, and now enables default GPU overclocking for those models that can handle it. Added functionality includes support for the VK_KHR_incremental_present Vulkan extension and the enabling of the nvidia-drm fbdev=1<\/code> option as the default setting.<\/p>\n

The NVIDIA 570 driver also strengthens compatibility with Linux kernels 6.11 and 6.12 LTS, while fixing multiple bugs from earlier driver iterations.
