The existing Cinnamon Menu applet includes a robust configuration panel, allowing users to customize which elements to show or hide. Therefore, the new design is expected to maintain similar customization features.<\/p>\n
Although the redesign is still a work in progress, it has not yet been confirmed whether it will be the default option in the forthcoming Linux Mint 22.2 release or if it will be available as an optional applet. It’s important to note that while Linux Mint develops the Cinnamon desktop, the defaults for Cinnamon may differ from those in Linux Mint itself.<\/p>\n
As we look ahead to Linux Mint 22.2’s release anticipated later this year, there will likely be additional changes implemented in both Cinnamon and Mint. Users who prefer different app menu designs will still have various options available from the Cinnamon Spices repository.<\/p>\n
