The EndeavourOS team has officially announced the release of EndeavourOS Ganymede, the latest stable version of this Arch Linux-derived distribution, featuring KDE Plasma 6.5. This new version is built on the recently released Linux kernel 6.17 and includes several notable improvements.<\/p>\n
One of the standout features in EndeavourOS Ganymede is its capability to automatically detect the GPU during the ISO boot process. This allows for seamless installation of the appropriate NVIDIA driver\u2014either the proprietary or the open-source variant. This enhancement ensures that the right modules are loaded in the live session and correctly configured on the installed system.<\/p>\n
Additionally, notable changes in this release include the replacement of the Maliit virtual keyboard with the Qt 6 virtual keyboard for the SDDM, which enhances the KDE Plasma desktop experience. Other tweaks involve updates to installations using LXDE, where GTK3 postfixes have been removed, Obconf is replaced with lxappearance-obconf-gtk3, and several package renaming and removals have been implemented.<\/p>\n
The release also brings the Mesa 25.2.7 graphics stack and the NVIDIA 580.105.08 graphics driver as part of its updates. The developers upgraded the Calamares graphical installer, resulting in a smoother installation experience.<\/p>\n
