This update comes four months after the previous version, 3.7.5, and aims to enhance the stability and reliability of the application.<\/p>\n<p>The major additions in this release include support for the FFmpeg 8.0 multimedia framework, which is essential for handling a wide range of audio formats. Users can also now utilize Spectrogram Wavelet analysis, making audio visualization more powerful. Another notable feature is the newly introduced \u201cImport from audio.com\u201d dialog, which allows for easy audio file imports directly from audio.com.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to these features, version 3.7.6 supports middle-mouse drag panning over the track panel and allows for the export of audio files as OGG\/Opus when using FFmpeg. Improvements have been made to 16-bit FLAC imports and cloud audio uploads. The release includes updated components such as cURL 8.17.0 and Wavpack 5.7.0.<\/p>\n<p>The updated Audacity can be downloaded as a universal AppImage binary, compatible with various Linux distributions including Ubuntu 22.04 LTS and newer versions like Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. Users have successfully run the AppImage on systems such as openSUSE Tumbleweed and Ubuntu 25.10.<\/p>\n<p>Audacity 3.7, released on October 30, 2024, included significant Linux compatibility improvements, a better light theme contrast, enhanced handling of non-standard characters for cloud saving, faster startup on machines with numerous audio devices, and improved Opus file imports.<\/p>\n<p>Looking ahead, the team is developing Audacity 4.0, which is expected to launch in the following year. This version aims to deliver a completely revamped interface along with a host of new features.
