Shotcut 25.12 has been released, introducing new features and improvements for this free, open-source video editing software that runs on Linux, macOS, and Windows. This latest update adds support for the NVIDIA NVENC encoder, enhancing the screen recording capabilities for Linux\/X11 users.<\/p>\n

Along with the encoder support, two new HTML presets\u2014Chrome and Neon Flux\u2014have been added, and subtitle extraction now supports mov_text and SSA formats. Many CPU video effects have also been updated to work with 10-bit and 12-bit video sources, making the tool more versatile for advanced video editing.<\/p>\n

The update features a new "Processing Mode" setting for video processing that affects both preview and export functions. Users can choose from several presets, including Native 8-bit CPU and Linear 10-bit GPU\/CPU (Experimental). Additionally, Shotcut 25.12 comes with a visual preset browser for the Image\/Video from HTML generator, and new options for minimizing the application and recording audio during screen snapshots.<\/p>\n

The Filters menu has been reorganized to enhance user experience, including a default setting for color filters in the Color workspace. Furthermore, various bugs from previous versions have been addressed, improving overall functionality and performance.<\/p>\n
