The app\u2019s appearance and behaviour remain largely familiar, though the update may look sharper on high-resolution displays and gives KeePassXC access to newer platform and security capabilities.<\/p>\n<p>Auto-Type lets KeePassXC enter saved login details directly into another app\u2019s fields, avoiding the need to copy and paste. The feature now works on Wayland through XDG Desktop Portals.<\/p>\n<p>Linux users can also enable Quick Unlock to open a database with a fingerprint via Polkit, rather than entering the master password every time. Version 2.8.0 additionally supports remote databases hosted on services such as WebDAV and SFTP.<\/p>\n<p>The Linux AppImage receives several improvements, including changes intended to reduce errors when downloading website favicons and checking for updates. It can now create and refresh its desktop menu entry, and uses <code>systemd-run<\/code> when available to support Wayland Auto-Type on GNOME and KDE.<\/p>\n<p>Other changes include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Configurable keyboard shortcuts<\/li>\n<li>A fix for lockups on systems with fewer than two CPU cores<\/li>\n<li><code>keyutils<\/code> bundled with the Snap package<\/li>\n<li>Support for generating RSA, ECDSA, and Ed25519 keys<\/li>\n<li>Proton Pass imports that include Wi-Fi and SSH keys<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The release also includes additional fixes and security patches. Ubuntu users can install it through the <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/launchpad.net\/~phoerious\/+archive\/ubuntu\/keepassxc\/\">KeePassXC PPA<\/a> or <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/flathub.org\/apps\/org.keepassxc.KeePassXC\">Flathub<\/a>.
