System76, a Linux hardware vendor, announced their newest arrival today, the Lemur Pro Linux notebook. It features a drastic new design and is powered by Intel Core Ultra processors.<\/p>\n
The Lemur Pro comes with a 14-inch FullHD+ display with a matte finish sporting a resolution of 1920×1200 and 16:10 aspect ratio. Moreover, it provides a wide viewing angle, a color range of 100% sRGB, and 72% NTSC. Despite providing up to 14 hours of battery life, the new laptop only weighs 2.2 lbs (1.15 kg) which includes the battery pack.<\/p>\n
In terms of computing power, Intel Core Ultra 5 125U or Intel Core Ultra 7 155U processors support System76’s Lemur Pro laptop. These are packed with 12 cores, 14 threads, and 12MB cache, powered by Intel Graphics. The Intel Core Ultra 5 offers a clock speed of up to 4.3GHz, while the Intel Core Ultra 7 ramps up the speed a notch higher to a maximum of 4.8GHz.<\/p>\n
Storage and system memory is nothing short of impressive, with the new Lemur Pro offering up to 56GB DDR5 4800 MHz memory, along with as much as 8TB M.2 PCIe Gen4 NVMe storage. It also features a Thunderbolt 4 port with Power Delivery, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, a multitouch clickpad, a backlit US QWERTY keyboard, a 2.0MP FullHD webcam and a microSD card reader.<\/p>\n
Connectivity-wise, the Linux-powered notebook features a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port with Power Delivery, a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port, a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port, an HDMI port, and a 3.5mm headphone\/microphone combo audio jack.<\/p>\n
As with all of System76\u2019s notebooks, the new Lemur Pro comes pre-installed with Pop!_OS 22.04 LTS or Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. It also features the System76 Open Firmware (Coreboot, EDK2, System76 firmware apps) and System76\u2019s open-source embedded controller firmware.<\/p>\n
