The beginning of each Ubuntu development cycle is primarily made up of package churn with little \u201cnew\u201d to enthuse over.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Of course, there\u2019s certain to be a slew of new features in Ubuntu 24.10 to talk, but it\u2019ll be a few weeks before they start trickling in \u2014 so keep your eyes peeled here, eh?<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><h2>What are Ubuntu Daily Builds?<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Ubuntu daily builds are pre-release versions of the distro intended solely for testing. As the name suggests, daily builds are generated daily though there are occasional pauses owing to release freezes, build failures, and other unintended snafus.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>While Ubuntu daily builds are not <em>supposed<\/em> to be used as your main OS (they undergo automated testing but will contain bugs, development versions of software, half-finished features, and so on) they are a great way to try a release prior to its official release.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Indeed, many folks install a daily build then \u2018ride\u2019 the development cycle as if it were a rolling release, i.e. installing all updates as they\u2019re released (and hoping nothing installed causes breakage, which isn\u2019t a given).<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><h3>Download Ubuntu 24.10 Daily Builds<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><figure><a href=\"https:\/\/149366088.v2.pressablecdn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Ubuntu-24.10-daily-builds.jpg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><figcaption>Take off: \u2018Oracular Oriole\u2019 development has opened<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p><p>You can download Ubuntu 24.10 daily builds from the <a href=\"https:\/\/cdimage.ubuntu.com\/daily-live\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Ubuntu cdimage website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Daily builds in \u2018current\u2019 have passed automated testing<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong> Daily builds in \u2018pending\u2019 are, well, pending testing <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><p>At the time of this writing, Ubuntu 24.10 builds are still labeled as <em>pending<\/em>, rather than <em>current<\/em>.
