This major update introduces several new features and extensive improvements.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Some of the main features provided by Shotcut 23.11 include compatibility with the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/9to5linux.com\/handbrake-1-7-released-with-amd-vcn-av1-and-nvidia-nvenc-av1-encoders\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NVIDIA AV1<\/a><\/strong> (<code>av1_nvenc<\/code>) hardware encoder for Linux and Windows systems, and the introduction of easing for keyframes, which encompasses Ease In, Ease Out, and Ease In\/Out, complete with various acceleration degrees and strategies such as elastic and bounce.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThis also changes the appearance of keyframes in the timeline view of Keyframes to make it more clear where the behavior applies \u2013 between keyframes,\u201d the developers detailed. \u201cWhen contemplating \u201cin\u201d or \u201cout\u201d, within Shotcut \u201cin\u201d denotes the commencement of something \u2013 a clip, filter, or parameter between keyframes. And \u201cout\u201d corresponds to the conclusion of something.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><p>A new Track Auto Fade Video filter has also been implemented in Shotcut 23.11. You can utilize this feature on video tracks to create a dip to black (or any other color), or regulate the opacity for overlays for each clip which allows for fade in and out effects.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>There are several new options in this release, such as \u201cOpacity\u201d in the GPS Text, Text: Simple, and Timer filters, \u201cRectangle Select\u201d in Timeline for rectangular selection of clips, \u201cView Bitrate\u201d in Properties to view a clip\u2019s bitrate, \u201cAutomatically Add Tracks\u201d in Timeline to automatically add tracks to a timeline, and \u201cGlow Intensity\u201d in Filters &gt; Set to mix a filtered output with the input in order to reduce it.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Furthermore, Shotcut 23.11 brings back the \u201cSplit at Playhead\u201d option to the timeline clip context menu, changes the \u201cSave\u201d option in the low memory dialog to perform a backup and save the project to prevent it from breaking, adds a button in Filters to save a filter set, and updates the \u201cCopy checked filters\u201d button to no longer show a dialog.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Last but not least, this release updates the Codec and Audio options in Export to disable some options when a lossless-only or an intra-only codec is selected, updates the Smooth keyframe type to avoid overshoots and cusps, improves the performance of the Zoom feature in Timeline, and adds a Crop: Rectangle &gt; Apply to Source button, which will only appear when the aspect ratio of the source media matches the project\u2019s video mode.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><p>Several bugs have been resolved in Shotcut to enhance current functionality, such as the H.264 high-profile YouTube export preset with certain hardware encoders and AMD (AMF) quality options in saved Export presets.
