Firefox 138 Launches with the Highly Anticipated Profile Manager Feature

Firefox has released version 138, introducing much-requested profile management features. This new update allows users to manage multiple profiles, keeping their bookmarks, tabs, and passwords organized. Users can name each profile, set a unique avatar, and select a color theme, making it easier to separate different online activities.

Additionally, Firefox 138 includes a weather feature for users in the United States, allowing them to obtain weather information via the address bar by typing keywords like "weather" or the name of a city. This data is sourced from Accuweather, although the specifics of data sharing remain unclear.

For improved accessibility, the update features a dedicated "Contrast Control" section, enabling users to customize contrast settings for web content, addressing the needs of individuals with vision impairments.

Moreover, users can now copy links from background tabs on Linux and macOS, while Windows users gain access to updated context menus that align with Windows 11’s aesthetics. Other enhancements include improvements to autofill functionality for addresses and credit cards, alongside a new column in the inspector’s network panel for better request tracking.

Ubuntu users will find the Firefox update available via the snap package, while Linux Mint users can access it through their update tool. Installation options for new users include official Snap and Flatpak builds, as well as a DEB package. Those on macOS and Windows will receive the update automatically through the built-in update system.
