The KDE Project has released KDE Gear 25.04.2, the second maintenance update for the KDE Gear 25.04 software suite. This update focuses on correcting various issues across popular KDE applications nearly a month after the previous update, KDE Gear 25.04.1.
Key fixes in this release include resolving a bug in the Kdenlive video editor related to bin clip effects disappearing when disabling a timeline clip. Additionally, the KReversi game now consistently allows for undoing moves after a game ends, and KAddressBook has had improvements to its “whatsnew” actions.
KDE Gear 25.04.2 also includes enhancements for the KNights chess game, which now saves games with the correct “pgn” file extension if none was provided, along with fixes for the KDE Itinerary travel assistant and Kate text editor’s search functionality.
Moreover, the KDE Itinerary library has been upgraded with a new booking.com PDF extractor, improved email handling for German confirmations, and additional support for various travel-related services. Other applications like Calligra, KDE Connect, KMail, Konsole, Marble, Okular, Skanpage, Tokodon, and Umbrello have also received updates.
Users are encouraged to check the full changelog for additional details and to update their installations via their preferred GNU/Linux distribution’s software repositories to ensure optimal performance, especially for those using the KDE Plasma desktop environment.
