Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS Now Available: Experience the Power of Linux Kernel 6.14

Canonical has announced the release of Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS, the third point release of the long-term supported 24.04 LTS (Noble Numbat) operating system. This release, available six months after Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS, provides an updated installation media allowing users to deploy the operating system on new computers without the need for extensive post-installation updates.

Powered by Linux kernel 6.14, Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS also includes the Mesa 25.0 graphics stack, which was previously found in the newer Ubuntu 25.04 (Plucky Puffin) release. Earlier versions of Ubuntu 24.04, including 24.04 and 24.04.1, were equipped with Linux kernel 6.8, while 24.04.2 utilized kernel 6.11; the new kernel offers enhanced support for the latest hardware.

Users can download Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS in both Desktop and Server versions, as well as other official flavors such as Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Lubuntu, and more from the official website.

Looking ahead, the next point release, Ubuntu 24.04.4 LTS, is scheduled for February 2026. It will feature a newer Linux kernel and graphics stack from the forthcoming Ubuntu 25.10 (Questing Quokka) release, due on October 9, 2025. The 24.04 LTS series will be supported until June 2029, making it a stable choice for users who prioritize long-term support over the latest features. For those seeking more advanced features, Ubuntu 25.04 (Plucky Puffin) presents a compelling alternative.
