KDE Frameworks 6.19 Launches with Enhancements and Bug Fixes

The KDE Project has released KDE Frameworks 6.19, enhancing both functionality and iconography within the KDE environment. This update includes significant improvements, such as enhanced support for the 7z format in the KArchive archive manager. Newly added right-to-left (RTL) versions of microphone and audio icons aim to better support diverse user needs.

Notable fixes in this release address several user experience issues, such as resolving the “Delete oldest files from the trash” option when the trash is full and correcting display problems in the Plasma System Monitor. Users will also benefit from fixed functionality while pasting text links into the Sticky Note widget and crash issues related to improperly structured themes.

Additionally, KDE Frameworks 6.19 improves Android notifications for newer API versions and includes necessary updates for various libraries, such as KNotifications and Sonnet. Enhancements to the Wayland support in the KWindowSystem component further enable a smoother operation for users of the KDE Plasma desktop.

For developers and programmers, the release includes better syntax highlighting features, catering to Quarto syntax, XKeyboardConfig, and SPARQL.

Users are encouraged to check their GNU/Linux distribution’s software repositories for the latest KDE Frameworks 6.19 packages to ensure their systems are updated with these enhancements. More details on the changes can be found on the release announcement page.
