The Document Foundation recently announced the release of LibreOffice 25.2.7, which is the final maintenance update for the LibreOffice 25.2 series. This update addresses 43 bugs and signals that users should transition to LibreOffice 25.8, given that the 25.2 series will reach its end of life on November 30, 2025.
Users currently on LibreOffice 25.2.x are urged to upgrade to the more recent LibreOffice 25.8.x series. The LibreOffice 25.8 version has already been incorporated into major GNU/Linux distributions and includes significant enhancements, including support for PDF 2.0, faster file opening times in Writer and Calc, and optimized memory management for better performance on virtual desktops and thin clients.
The upgrade from LibreOffice 25.2 to 25.8 will provide an improved user experience until the next maintenance update for LibreOffice 25.8, which is expected around mid-November 2025. Both versions are available for download from the official LibreOffice website.
