Firefox 145 Debuts Sleeker Tabs, Enhanced PDF Editing Features, and More Exciting Updates!

Mozilla has released Firefox 145, introducing a variety of new features and improvements aimed at enhancing user experience. Among the notable changes are rounder tabs, buttons, and input fields, which aim to create a more visually cohesive browsing experience. Users can also manage passwords more efficiently with a new sidebar that allows for quick access without leaving the current webpage.

The update enhances the built-in PDF editor, enabling users to add, edit, and remove comments while also providing a sidebar overview of all comments, making it useful for collaborative work. Additionally, users can now create text fragment links, allowing them to link directly to specific sections of web pages by selecting text and choosing the Copy Link to Highlight option.

Other enhancements include better translation functionality, new settings for link handling from applications, and improved media codec support. Firefox 145 has also strengthened its privacy protections, significantly reducing browser fingerprinting for users with Enhanced Tracking Protection (ETP) enabled.

Importantly, this version drops support for 32-bit Linux machines, encouraging users still on those systems to either stay with the last supported version or switch to Firefox’s Extended Support Release (ESR).

Firefox is available for download across platforms including Windows, macOS, and Linux. In Ubuntu, it comes preinstalled as a Snap package, ensuring users receive updates seamlessly. Users on Linux Mint can update through their standard package management tools.

For those who want to explore the latest release or need further details, the official Firefox website provides all necessary resources.
