Valve has launched Proton 10.0-4 as the newest stable version of its open-source compatibility tool that allows Windows games to run on Linux through Steam Play. This update significantly enhances the gaming experience with expanded support for numerous titles.
Among the new games now supported are Drop Dead: The Cabin, Quantum Threshold, and others such as Fellowship, The Obsessive Shadow, Lost Memories 3 Side Stories, and Zero Caliber 2 Remastered. Previous games already functioning under Proton Experimental can be played without issues, including a diverse array of titles like Agatha Christie: Evil Under the Sun, Far Cry 5, and Dragon’s Dogma Dark Arisen.
In addition to adding support for these games, Proton 10.0-4 introduces improvements for existing titles such as Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Grounded 2, and Marvel Rivals. The release also enhances functionality for Sony PlayStation controllers, particularly fixing haptics support for DualSense controllers, and introduces a speech recognition feature in Phasmophobia.
On the technical side, this update leverages Wine Mono 10.4.1, vkd3d-proton 3.0b, and vkd3d 1.18 to bolster its performance. Users can enable Proton 10.0-4 for their games by adjusting the Compatibility settings in their Steam Library.
