The Document Foundation Unveils Its First Official Logo in 16 Years

The Document Foundation (TDF), the non-profit that steers LibreOffice’s development, has introduced its first distinct logo and visual identity since the organisation was founded in 2010.
Until now, TDF and LibreOffice shared the same logotype and wordmark. The refreshed identity gives the foundation its own wordmark, set in the Inter typeface, alongside updated brand colours. The redesign was handled by Berlin-based agency URA Design.
TDF says the separation reflects the fact that it operates as an institution, not just as the organisation behind a software product. Its work also includes contributing to the Open Document Format standard and promoting document interoperability and digital sovereignty with public organisations, schools and governments.
The change applies only to the foundation. LibreOffice’s logo and branding remain unchanged.
TDF plans to roll out the new identity across its websites, social media, documents and other materials over the coming months. The new brand assets are available to download, and the foundation has shared details of the redesign in its announcement.
