Discover the Enhanced Document Editing Experience in ONLYOFFICE 9.3

ONLYOFFICE has released version 9.3 of its desktop editors, an open-source office suite compatible with Windows, macOS, and Linux, introducing several significant features to enhance document editing and productivity.

The new version improves PDF form handling with added signature options, a multipage view for documents, new solver tools, and regex formulas for spreadsheets. Among the notable updates is the introduction of a more user-friendly text selection feature in the Document Editor, allowing users to select words or paragraphs effortlessly through mouse clicks.

Key updates include:

Document, Spreadsheet, and Presentation Features

  • Enhanced PDF and Document Editing: The PDF editor now allows you to record macros for editing pages, forms, and images, a first for this software, while the Document Editor can now save files as Markdown.
  • Multi-page View: This feature enables users to view multiple pages side by side and is adjustable with zoom control.
  • Signature Options: Users can now insert scanned handwritten signatures more conveniently, either as images or by typing with a custom font.
  • Link Support: All editors in this update allow adding links to images, shapes, or groups.

Spreadsheet Editor Enhancements

  • The Spreadsheet Editor introduces regex functions, including REGEXTEST, REGEXREPLACE, and REGEXEXTRACT, enhancing data manipulation capabilities.
  • A new solver function can handle linear problems (Simplex LP) and allows for multiple result outputs in adjacent cells.
  • Streamlined formatting options are now accessible via a new button on the Home tab.

Additional Improvements

Alongside the newly added features, the update brings improved document comments, read-only support for TSV files in the Spreadsheet Editor, and options for printing dedicated page settings in PDFs.

For those looking to install ONLYOFFICE 9.3, it is available for download from the ONLYOFFICE official website or via the project’s GitHub page. Linux users seeking ease of updates can opt for the ONLYOFFICE Snap or the Flatpak version found on Flathub.
